[Step 1] 2 Methods of Adding Google Wallet
12 March 2025 : Google Wallet has officially launched in Pakistan, you can install it from your Google Playstore on your phone / watch and add the card as shown below to enjoy tap-pay feature which supported by almost all stores in Pakistan.
Google Wallet may not be available in your country and it might show “Unavailable in your country” thus making the procedure difficult, but still you can add it by following these two methods.
Method 1 : Change your Google country
- Open Google Settings: On your Android device, go to the “Settings” app. Scroll down and tap on “Google.” Tap on “Manage your Google account.”
- Access Account Settings: If prompted, sign in to your Google account. Once signed in, tap on “Personal info & privacy.” Tap on “Basic info & privacy.”
- Change Country: Scroll down and tap on “Country.” You’ll be presented with a list of countries. Select any country where google wallet is supported i.e. USA,Ireland,Malaysia etc. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
- Clear Cache: Clear the App info Cache and App info Storage for all 5 Apps/services in your mobile – Google Playstore, Google Play services, Google Services Framework (Search in Setting for this), Google App and Google Pay app. Restart your phone and connect to any VPN you use and select the country you selected above.
- Update Play Store: Open the Play Store app and check for updates. If an update is available for the Play Store app, install it.
- Install Google Wallet : Once the Play Store update is complete, search for “Google Wallet” in the app and install it.
Method 2 : Install through 3rd Party APK Site
This method is a bit straight forward but risky , as you will be installing Google wallet app from a 3rd party website. You can use following two credible sources for finding and installing the latest version of Google Wallet :
Once you have downloaded the APK file you can install the wallet application in your phone
Note: I personally recommend Method 1 as it is safer and secure method.
[Step 2] Add RedotPay Card to Google Wallet
After following the above steps you would have successfully installed google wallet to your phone. Now you can install redotpay card to your google wallet for seamless NFC tap-payments most stores in Pakistan.
- Launch the App: Open the Google Wallet app on your mobile device.
- Add a Card: Look for the option to add a new card. You can usually find this by tapping on the ‘Payment’ or ‘Cards’ section, then select the ‘Add a card’ option.
- Input Card Details: Input the details of your RedotPay card manually. This includes the card number, the expiry date, and the CVV (the three-digit security code on the back of the card). You can view all these details in your redotpay app.
- Save and Continue: Once you’ve entered all the details correctly, tap on ‘Save’ or ‘Continue’.
- Agree to Terms and Conditions: A prompt may appear displaying the Terms and Conditions. Make sure you read these carefully, and then tap on the ‘Agree’ or ‘Confirm’ button.
And that’s it! Your RedotPay Card is now connected to your Google Wallet account. You’re all set to make seamless, secure payments with your cryptocurrency, directly from your mobile device.
