What is Auto Invest / DCA Bot / Convert Recurring

What is it? How does it work? Which exchanges offer it?

    What is Auto Invest?

Auto Invest (also called Recurring Buy, Convert Recurring, or DCA Bot depending on the exchange) is a feature that lets you automatically buy a fixed amount of cryptocurrency at regular intervals — daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly — without doing anything manually each time. It works like a more refined Packet Investment Strategy which you set up once. The exchange handles the rest.

What does DCA stand for, and why does it matter?

DCA stands for Dollar-Cost Averaging. It is one of the oldest and most proven investment strategies in finance, now widely adopted in crypto.

The idea is simple: instead of investing a large lump sum at one time (and risking buying at the top), you split your investment into smaller, equal amounts and buy at regular intervals. Sometimes you buy at a higher price, sometimes lower. Over time, your average cost balances out.

Examples with Price Action and ROI

    Simple Example:

    WeekBTC PriceYou InvestBTC Bought
    1$60,000$1000.00167
    2$50,000$1000.00200
    3$55,000$1000.00182
    4$45,000$1000.00222
    Total$4000.00771 BTC

Your average cost per BTC = $400 ÷ 0.00771 = ~$51,880 — better than if you had bought everything at $60,000. And compounding the same effect for longer durations can be even more beneficial.

    Historical Data Example:

Let’s do a historical price action example where a user invests $1 everyday to buy Bitcoin using Auto Invest.
    Here’s the full breakdown for $1/day into BTC from June 17, 2022 → June 17, 2025 (1,097 days):

    The Numbers:

    • Invested: $1,097 USDT
    • BTC accumulated: 0.03056 BTC
    • Average cost: $35,893/BTC
    • Portfolio value at exit: $3,209
    • Net profit: +$2,112
    • ROI: +192.5% (nearly 3x)

The real story behind the chart:

The bear market phase (Jun–Dec 2022) was only 7 months but gave you your cheapest BTC — at $16,700 to $23,600. That chunk alone is worth ~$987 today on a tiny $210 investment. People who panic-sold then are still regretting it.

By the time BTC hit $68K+ in 2024, you were still buying — but by then each $1 bought very little BTC. That’s fine, because the heavy accumulation already happened at the bottom.

If we scale the figures up:

    • $5/day → $16,045 from $5,485 invested (+192%)
    • $10/day → $32,091 from $10,970 invested
    • $30/day (~$1,000 PKR) → ~$96,000 from ~$33,000

Which exchanges offer Auto Invest / DCA Bot?

All major exchange an Auto Invest feature which may have been branded as Bybit calls it “DCA Bot” while Binance calls it “Convert Recurring” , earlier it was called Auto Invest. Open your favourite app and search for DCA Bot / Convert Recurring for the option to pop up.

    Ideal Settings for Auto Invest

The best settings are those which you prefer, but what I do :

    1. Find out my monthly planned amount of investment and divide it to find out what it makes per hour.
    2. Setup a Coin and set it’s frequency as “Every Hour” and enter that price.
    3. Let the bot do it’s thing

You can always fine tune other settings like stop buying if the price goes up or down X amount or if your total investment has reached a certain amount etc.

    Auto Invest Video

Made this video years ago for Binance ,but same concept work. However as of now I only have 1 BNB auto invest plan and multiple BTC auto invest plans. The Top 10 auto invest plan may not do good as only Top 5 MC coins are worth investing and holding in my personal opinion when it comes to PIS.

Bottom Line: Who should use Auto Invest?

    Auto Invest is ideal for:

    • Beginners who don’t want to time the market
    • Salaried individuals who want to invest a fixed amount each month
    • Long-term HODLers building a BTC or ETH position over years
    • Anyone who has made impulsive buy/sell decisions based on emotion

It is not for active traders, short-term speculators, or anyone who needs liquidity quickly.

Set it, forget it, and let compounding time in the market do its work.
